IRB: The basics
Overview
ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥¼ä State University's IRB was created for the purpose of reviewing for ethical acceptability all research activities dealing with the use of human subjects and to advise individuals in the academic community regarding the ethical acceptability of proposed research utilizing human subjects.
Research conducted by or with assistance of MSU faculty, staff, or students that may involve human subjects requires IRB review and determination.
Federal Wide AssuranceA Federal Wide Assurance (FWA) is an assurance of compliance submitted to the Office for Human Research Protection (OHRP) by an institution engaged in certain types of human subjects research. Through the Terms of FWA, the institution commits that it will comply with federal regulations for the protections of human subjects in research activities.
