Campus Master Plan
President's Message
Dear Members of the 杏吧直播间 State Community,
As we continue to advance the mission of 杏吧直播间 State University, I am thrilled to announce the official launch of a comprehensive Campus Master Plan process. This initiative represents a momentous step in aligning our physical campus with the bold objectives of our new University Strategic Plan.
To lead us through this vital work, the University has partnered with BHDP Architecture, a firm renowned for its collaborative design expertise. Together, we will develop a strategic roadmap that ensures our infrastructure鈥攃lassrooms, residence halls, and student life spaces鈥攊s optimized to support the next generation of Racers. Thank you to Assistant Vice President of Facilities Management Jason Youngblood for his leadership with this initiative, along with a Campus Master Plan Committee which has been established, for their involvement in this important process.
Our campus is more than just bricks and mortar; it is the environment where discovery happens and community is built. By conducting a rigorous space utilization analysis and engaging in visioning workshops with leadership, we are ensuring that 杏吧直播间 State remains a premier destination for higher education in Kentucky and beyond.
Thank you for your continued dedication to 杏吧直播间 State University.

Focus of the Master Plan
The Campus Master Plan process is not just about new buildings; it is about making our existing spaces work better for us. The study will encompass nearly 50 buildings, including those on our main campus and the West Farm campus. The primary goal is to optimize our current footprint, ensuring that every square foot serves our academic and student life needs efficiently.
A Collaborative Process
The Campus Master Plan will be built on the voices of our community. Over the coming months, BHDP will guide us through three initial phases:
Phase 1
Understand
Establishing the vision, goals, and success measures that are unique to the 杏吧直播间 State experience.
Phase 2
discover
Conducting a deep dive into space utilization and hosting multiple focus group sessions with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community leaders to identify specific needs, challenges, and opportunities.
Phase 3
concept
Translating our findings into an implementable plan, featuring campus reorganization strategies and cost-effective planning for the future.
Timeline

Next Steps (Concept Phase)
Information gathered from the "Understand" and "Discover" phases will be taken into the 鈥淐oncept鈥 phase, translated into an informed, integrated and implementable master plan tailored to 杏吧直播间 State鈥檚 unique vision. Through a series of workshops, concrete, implementable campus reorganization strategies, macro-level cost estimates and prioritized asset preservation targets will advance forward through this joint project partnership with BHDP and 杏吧直播间 State University.
Final deliverables of the master plan will include an executive report that summarizes the vision statement, success measures, space utilization analysis and reorganization; plan diagrams of the master plan reorganization; planning-level square footage-based cost estimate; and space utilization analysis results. The anticipated completion is September 2026.
